3rd Crew Welfare Virtual Awards Ceremony due on June the 25th!

SAFETY4SEA is delighted to announce the Crew Welfare Awards for the third consecutive year within the scope of fostering Crew Wellbeing & Sustainable Shipping. The process to be employed is a combination of open nomination and vote while the presentation shall take place at a dedicated special event to be held on June the 25th , during the 3rd Crew Welfare Week.

The award categories are:

Crew Welfare Tanker Operator Award
To be awarded to a ship operator of oil or chemical tankers, or gas carriers that demonstrated Initiative, Best Practices and Excellence and in any aspect of crew welfare

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, for its human performance strategy
  • Arcadia Shipmanagement, for investing in training and skills development
  • TORM, for engaging in well-being programs to support seafarers
  • V.Group, for engaging in innovative crew welfare initiatives
  • Wallem Group, for committing to innovation in its practices and training methods


Crew Welfare Dry Bulk Operator Award
To be awarded to a ship operator of bulk carriers, or general dry cargo vessels that demonstrated Initiative, Best Practices and Excellence in any aspect of crew welfare

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • Alpha Bulkers Shipmanagement Inc, for focusing on crew welfare
  • Anglo American Shipping Pte Ltd, for supporting seafarers
  • Berge Bulk, for providing crew wellness initiatives
  • Fleet Management Limited, for establishing the ‘FLEET Care’ team
  • OSM Thome, for fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace
  • Pacific Basin Shipping Limited, for focusing on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion


Crew Welfare Crew Manager Award
To be awarded to a crew management company that demonstrated Initiative, Best Practices and Excellence and in any aspect of crew welfare

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • Danica Crewing Specialists, for addressing current challenges facing the industry’s workforce
  • Elvictor Group, for its extensive track record in crew management
  • MAGSAYSAY, for its ‘We Care’ program
  • Senator Crewing (Manila), Inc, for its ‘Crew and Wellbeing Programme’’
  • V.Ships, for engaging in many crew welfare initiatives


Crew Welfare Service Provider Award
To be awarded to a Service provider that delivered service which contributes towards improving crew welfare

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • AP Companies, for establishing a holistic professional approach to crew health
  • Baze Technology, for its ‘Bazeport Seea’ entertainment and learning platform
  • IMEQ Center, for offering mental health expertise
  • OneCare Solutions, for offering mental health support to seafarers through its digital platform
  • RightShip, for its ‘Crew Welfare Self-Assessment’
  • VIKAND, for its ‘Mental Health First Aid for Seafarers’ course


Crew Welfare Non-Profit Organisation Award
To be awarded to a non-profit organization or association that planned, promoted and delivered any program fostering crew welfare with tangible results

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • InterManager, for its ‘General Principles of Conduct and Action’
  • International Maritime Rescue Federation, for its ‘#SARyouOK?’ initiative
  • Maritime Just Transition Task Force, for supporting a just transition for seafarers with dedicated training
  • Seafarers Hospital Society, for establishing ‘Best Practice KPIs’ on crew welfare
  • Swedish Maritime Administration, for participating in ‘REDO 2.0’ project for social sustainability at sea
  • Waypoint Maritime CiC, for promoting  best practice to mental health


Crew Welfare Diversity & Inclusion Award
To be awarded to an organization that planned/delivered a program or promoted in any way the Diversity & Inclusion agenda

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • Admore Shipping, for its ‘Bursary Cadet Program’
  • Columbia Group, for its ‘Female Cadet Mentoring Programme’
  • Diversity Study Group, for supporting DEI in the maritime industry
  • Wallem Group, for its ‘Women of Wallem (WoW)’ initiative
  • Women In Transport, for launching the ‘Transport Equity Index’ and related report


Crew Welfare Personality Award
To be awarded to a Personality that provided industry influence and contributed towards moving the crew welfare agenda forward with tangible results


Crew Welfare Leadership Award
To be awarded to an Industry Figure that has provided leadership by steering their organization and/or the industry towards crew welfare excellence

 


 

Awards are subject to the following procedure, terms and conditions.

Nomination and Voting Procedure:

  • Notification procedure is initiated few months ahead of the event with an open invitation to the industry stakeholders to propose nominations on the web. Nominations are valid only with an online submission completing the form below and can be made by any individual involved in shipping, limited to one nomination per category per person. All nominations MUST be in English language and provide a clear indication of the reasons behind the nomination (as appropriate).
  • SAFETY4SEA Editorial staff will review all nominations for validity in line with rules, terms and conditions announced and place all valid nominations to the website for the online Open Vote in line with the deadlines announced.
  • For each category winner will be the nominee that has attracted the most votes by the end of the voting period. Only one vote per person per category will be allowed.
  • Awards shall be presented to winners at a dedicated special event to be held on June the 25th, during the Crew Welfare Week.

 

Terms and Conditions:

  • Nominations: 3rd Crew Welfare Virtual Awards are open for nominations till Tuesday, 2nd of April 2024. Valid nominations will be reviewed by the editorial staff and put to online open vote on crewwelfareweek.com, supported by social media and e-mail campaigns.
  • Eligibility: Only work or achievements taking place within the last 18 months will be eligible. Each nomination to meet the award description and specified entry criteria.
  • Online Open Vote Procedure: Only one vote is accepted per award category. Vote will be open till 10th of May 2024.
  • Award Announcement: Awards shall be presented to winners at a dedicated special event to be held on June the 25th, during the Crew Welfare Week.
